NEW SINGLE RELEASE - Eva Gadd ‘The One’

In the form of a self love inducing, soulful ballad, Eva Gadd has released her new single ‘The One’, but its been a long-time in the making.

Add this one to your Christmas playlist; the song evokes just the right amount of nostalgia and emotion to feel festive without actually being a Christmas song. Released on the 24th of November, ‘The One’, has an enchanting end of year feel and is all about new beginnings, closing old chapters and learning to make peace with putting yourself at the forefront of your life. ‘Cos I know you won’t appear, and the end of the year is nearing, so I’m saying I’m the one.’

Despite being a brand new release, Eva has kept this sentimental track under her belt for some years until the time finally felt right. ’I wrote this song a couple of years ago, and have always felt it needed an understated acoustic recording which I was lucky enough to secure at Woodworm Studios where Stuart Jones worked his magic on the track.’

At only 24 years old, Eva’s music has a timeless energy that is beyond her years. The artist combines contemporary ballad with soul and jazz influences to create her seamless sound with melodies that will give you goosebumps.

The lyrics don’t lack in meaningfulness either, with the singer revealing her inspiration behind the words, ‘Reflecting on a past experience when I had waited a long time for a person who I thought would choose me, instead I arrived at the freeing realisation that you can give to yourself anything that you are waiting for someone else to provide.’

Eva takes us on a self realisation journey with this track. At first listen we may think the is a sad song centred around loneliness, but 4 minutes later we arrive at a place of hope and empowerment as the artist learns that the only person who truly is ‘The One’ for her- is herself. ‘I could be my one, the one that I can hold, the one that’ll never let me go.’

The simplicity of the piano keys on the track make for a cosy, tranquil listen but its Eva’s soft vocals which make ‘The One’ so enchanting, with BBC Introducing describing the Oxfordshire singers voice as ‘mesmerising’.

Don’t miss out on being one of the first to listen to this new single, out on major streaming platforms today.
