Manchester folk pop four-piece – The Deep Blue have dropped yet another smoothy of heartbreak in their newest single release ‘Lakehouse’. A story of hiding pain and the difficulty of identifying and naming it, their sisterhood is palpable in quite honestly some of the most well-blended and articulated harmonies I have heard since the likes of HAIM.

The release of this single marks the latest milestone in the band’s journey, building anticipation for their second EP titled “Sugarcoat,” expected for release on July 7th. The EP so far includes “Lakehouse” and earlier released lead single “How About It?”.

Speaking on the album the band have stated: “Lakehouse is a very special song to us and the most emotionally raw on the EP. It’s an ode to the paradox of fearing vulnerability whilst longing for connection. Sometimes the words are just too heavy to say out loud.”
