It’s the perfect time of year to listen to Joy Mumford’s new single ‘Spilt Milk’. Definitely an easy listen with a steady beat and smooth vocals. The visuals released with the song compliment the feeling of hazy summer days. One for fans of Raveena or Cleo Sol. 

Mumford described how it came about on her Instagram:

“I wrote and produced it during a time when I was learning how to let go and free myself after being disappointed. It’s about coming to peace with the fact that endings can really make room for brighter, beautiful beginnings if you let them.”

It seems like the perfect time for her to release a song about letting go of the past and welcoming a hopeful future. Spilt Milk marks Mumford’s first release in 2023. It follows a string of singles over the years and 2 EPs released in 2019 and 2020. It feels like she’s matured over the years and hopefully another EP with this more refined sound is coming soon.
