Following her May single release ‘in full bloom’, London-based producer and composer, Hinako Omori released her introspective, synth-pop track ‘foundation’ earlier this month.

Navigating classical, electronic and ambient, Omori stands out as a truly unique composer. With every release she showcases a meticulous ability to craft vivid worlds within the minds of her listeners. Graduating in music and sound recording, and subsequently working as a freelance musician and programmer, Omori has nurtured a polished and distinctive, cinematic sound. Her style features complex soundscapes, which are often laced with her haunting and pensive vocals. Newest single ‘foundation’ is no exception. 

‘foundation’ takes the listener on a 6-minute sonic journey, opening with Omori’s atmospheric falsetto, expansive synths, and a heartbeat-like pulse which leaves you floating above every layer of the composition. As the track builds she repeats the mantra ‘our foundation is stable’, leaving a feeling of warm reassurance. Omori comments, “foundation is a letter to ourselves on trusting our intuition and inner guidance to lead us along our unique paths”. 

After receiving high praise for her 2022 concept album ‘a journey…’, which focussed on the therapeutic properties of music, Omori says that these two latest singles mark a transformative period. With her future body of work she hopes to lean towards more song-based compositions and continue to infuse her work with personal introspection.
