Eaves Wilder, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter born and raised in London, has recently released her debut EP “Hookey”. Influenced by Pink Floyd and Lily Allen, Eaves Wilder’s music can be categorized as shoegaze bedroom pop, featuring lyrics that draw on the anger and intensity of the riot grrl genre, accompanied by reverberating vocals that capture the turbulence of youth. The EP reflects her teenage years spent playing hooky in the school music room, where she honed her songwriting and instrument-playing skills. The standout track on the four-song EP is the opening song ‘I Stole Your Jumper’, which showcases Eaves’ talent for infusing emotional storytelling with playful and experimental elements. The EP has garnered recognition from NME’s top 100 and has received support from Chris Hawkins, Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 6, and Clara Amfo.
